Commissions
A commission will be reviewed by Karen Lavender for suitability before it is accepted. Karen Lavender reserves the right to reject a commission if deemed unsuitable.
LEAD TIME
Karen Lavenders Art commission lead time varies throughout the year. When placing a commission an estimated completion date will be given to you.
CONSULTATION
Karen Lavender will consult with the Buyer to obtain details about the commission and to the Buyer’s specifications.
Once Karen Lavender has the necessary information from the Buyer (eg. image ideas, dimensions and any other information relevant to the Buyer’s request), the Buyer will be given a quote. If necessary Karen Lavender will consult with the Buyer to prepare any drawings in respect to the commission piece.
Unless otherwise specified, all artworks are for indoor use only.
QUOTES
Shortly after your initial enquiry Karen Lavender will provide a quote, including a price, details of the materials, lead times together with other key terms.
All Quotes are valid for a period of 30 days of the date of issue.
The acceptance of the Quote either oral or written will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions and form a contract between Karen Lavenderand the Buyer.
A 20% non-refundable deposit is payable by the Buyer upon acceptance of the Quote.
Full payment (the remaining 80%) is required by either cash, credit card, paypal or bank transfer is required prior to pick up or delivery.
CANCELLATION OF COMMISSION
Karen Lavender does not refund or exchange if you change your mind. In the event that the Buyer does not wish to proceed with the purchase of the art work prior to the commencement , the Buyer will forfeit the non-refundable deposit.
If the Buyer cancels the commissioned work after the piece has been started, the Buyer agrees to pay a cancellation fee up to the 50% of the purchase price at Karen Lavenders discretion. The Buyer acknowledges and agrees that this figure is a genuine pre-estimate of the loss likely to be suffered by Karen Lavender in the event the Buyer cancels the purchase after the commencement of the art work.
Once a custom item has been picked up or delivered there will be no refund given. If there is a fault with the artwork, or damaged caused in transit then Karen Lavender will work with the buyer to repair or replace the artwork.
OWNERSHIP
Ownership and risk of the products, such as loss and damage, pass to the Buyer on delivery or when collection of the artwork occurs.
The Buyer acknowledge that at all times all intellectual property including, but not limited to, designs, techniques, photographs, specifications, artwork, text, remain the property of Karen Lavender.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Do not place artwork in direct sunlight.

Do not apply hot or wet items directly onto finished surface as they can leave marks, which are difficult to remove.

Only use a damp natural fibre cloth to clean your artwork where necessary.

Contact with acidic liquids such as lemon juice, vinegar, nail polish remover and other similar products can result in etching of the protective coatings. Please do not use any of these kinds of products in the vicinity of your artwork.

Do not use harsh cleaning products , as this may tarnish the artwork.
